EarthWindFire Science Club—FAQs

Why should I join?

To meet people and have fun while doing science-related activities. Also, club membership and holding a club office look good to professional schools (e.g., pharmacy and P.A.)!

How can I join?

Attend any Science Club meeting to join.

Do I have to be a Science Major?

No.

What does the club do?

Past activities include telescope viewings, river clean-up, museum visits, seminars on pharmacy and other science careers, and an overnight field trip to Cumberland Island (an unspoiled barrier island) and the Okefenokee Swamp. Bring your own ideas!

How much does membership cost?

    Membership is free.

How much do field trips cost?

Field trip costs vary, but costs are kept to a minimum. Some club activities are supported by your student activities fee.

When are the meetings?

We have monthly meetings, normally on the first Wednesday of the month. Watch the web site for meeting time and place.

What should I bring to the first meeting?

Field trip ideas and your questions.

What if I want to be an officer in the club?

Realize that officers must commit to attending all meetings and provide other services according to office held. See officers’ duties on the club’s web site. Elections are held early in the fall semester.
